Remember the post “independent woman pt. I” a few months ago? Where I reflected on my life, road, goals,…? And opened up my heart a little bit? Your positive reactions on it warmed up my black cold heart, which made pt. II inevitable. It took me so long, because I had set some goals and as all of you know realizing goals takes time. And… Hooray!!! I was able to make some changes. Let me tell you all about it…
Let’s start with the blogging part, of course! Well.. I have succeeded to make an income from my blog, not comparable with the biggest influencers around the world but everything starts small. The easiest way to make some money is through Instagram, it’s also the fastest way to get in touch with a brand, other influencers,.. Don’t be afraid to approach a brand even if you haven’t got those magical 10k followers. At this moment, it’s the reach that counts. So if you see a brand you’d like to collaborate with, don’t be afraid and go for it. You have absolutely nothing to lose! A media kit is also a little “must” or let’s say it makes the first conversations so much easier. (I’ll make a seperate post about the kits later.) But it gives a clear view to the brand and it makes you look more professional because you know what you want, what you stand for,… Too many outsiders think blogging is just “looking beautiful on camera” but those who have been blogging for a while know better, it has become a serious business. It’s time to make a name for ourselves, sweeties!
Then, fashion styling. More and more people have found their way to me, even though I still have to set up the official website. Mouth to mouth advertising still works, as it seems. It’s such a grateful job, you can’t even imagine. The smile on their face when you help them score that ultimate outfit or upgrade their wardrobe is… priceless!
I also made some changes when it comes to hosting events. I’m working as a freelancer now and currently registered with more than 10 agencies. What, 10? I understand the confusion, but for me it’s an advantage. The more agencies you’re signed with, the more choice you have in accepting the events you absolutely like. It gives me an incredible feeling of freedom and puts me in control of the situation. (YES, I’m a control freak… a huuuuge one, sorry!) Result? You’ll catch me with a smile on my face at each event I’m working. Hoooooraaaayyyy once again!
While the career side goes hard, nothing has changed in my personal life. Still running my little family by myself, not complaining at all. Some people do it on their own, you know. It’s not always easy especially when I have to go through a difficult situation. But at the same time people’s respect only grow towards me, my boys look up to me and I’m proud as hell every time I get it done.
To all of you who have been through a hard time, who have been searching for.. themselves, who have lost a lot of trust along the way,.. Please, never stop believing! Dare to dream and grab every possible chance to turn that dream into reality. I’m rooting for you, always! Lots of love, your girl
